
The Norwich Italian American Heritage and Cultural Committee named Michael Gualtieri and Elizabeth Wigfield as the Italians of the Year for 2024, according to a press release. Since 1993, the organization has honored two individuals of Italian descent, living in the Greater Norwich area, who have served the Italian community through deeds and actions, contributed to progress and betterment of the community, and have respect for Italian heritage and culture, the press release states.
The Cultural Committee will hold its annual Italians of the Year Banquet for the two honorees at the Norwich Holiday Inn on Friday, Oct. 11 at 5:30 p.m. Antipasto, pasta, sausage, meatballs and chicken parmesan will be served. Tickets are $40 and must be bought in advance from Liberty Restaurant Supply at 860-889-1369, or from Committee President Frank Jacaruso at 860-889-0864.
