Imagine serving more than a thousand turkey dinners in just a few hours. The family that owns Piero's Italian Cuisine did just that to make sure families in need got a Thanksgiving dinner to remember. Volunteers served up more than 300 pounds of turkey and 250 pounds of potatoes. It's all part of a tradition that's been going on for 25 years. The kitchen cranked food out almost as fast as you can order it.
Chef Gilbert Fetaz orchestrated his kitchen like a well-oiled machine. Piero's served up 1,350 Thanksgiving dinners. Families made reservations months ago through local charities. Alan Perlmutter has been taking part in the annual event for more than 20 years. "A lot of people never have the opportunity to eat in a fine restaurant and have people go out and bring them food and wait on them," said Perlmutter.
