Bella Vita Deli & Catering has Rockland's best sandwich. So say lohud readers who gave the Congers eatery 44.45% of the popular vote in our latest poll. The deli is owned by Tom Martucci, who bought it from former owners Mike and Vita Giordano in March.
Martucci, who's been working in the business for 15-plus years, starting as a pizza delivery guy and then eventually, post culinary school, as a sous chef at L'escale restaurant in Greenwich, Connecticut, said he didn't change much at the decades old deli when he bought it, and in fact, kept the same staff.
