Motorists traveling along Highway 60 by Carnes could be forgiven for scratching their heads upon encountering, in the shadow of a towering grain elevator, a warmly lit pizzeria. Strung up outside are glowing patio lights and, on weekend evenings, the parking area is full of vehicles.
Sfumato Pizzeria celebrated its 10th anniversary last weekend, and regulars and newcomers alike streamed into the restaurant to enjoy live music, talk across vintage orange tabletops, and celebrate what this unlikely restaurant is all about: Neapolitan-style pizza, straight from a wood-fired pizza oven.
