St. Benedict's School in Throgs Neck welcomed a new principal this week. Tuesday was Ray Vitiello's second official day as principal of St. Benedicts School. Vitiello has more than two decades with the Archdiocese of New York, serving as a school principal in Kingsbridge and as a regional superintendent.
"It's much more personal," he says. "I was baptized here, I received all my sacraments here and I was married at St. Benedict's." Vitiello says his goal is to know the names of all 290 students within two weeks.
