Mayor Mario Bria, of Rose, Italy, first visited Stamford in 1999. The city has changed a lot since then, he said. Bria spent an hour Tuesday with Mayor David Martin, trading gifts and pastries as representatives of a new "sister city" arrangement.
Rose, which lies close to the southern tip of Italy in the Calabria region, will be the third Italian sister city to Stamford, following Minturno and Settefrati, both in Lazio.
