Unique Eats may have headed to a small neighborhood in Lackawanna, but there's nothing small about the food. Tucked away on a side street off Route 5, Mulberry Italian Ristorante is a bit hard to find (64 Jackson Avenue if you want to Google it) in the middle of a residential neighborhood. It started as a bar frequented by Bethlehem Steel workers but has grown over the years as a restaurant.
Co-owner and chef Joe Jerge has worked there since he was a teenager. You'll see a lot of him by the entrance- he's posted pictures on the wall of himself with the many local and national celebrities that have stopped in. Jerge says the fact that those celebrities eat right alongside anyone else in the dining room is part of the charm of the place.
