The West Haven community and beyond is mourning the death of Aniello Cappetta, the founder of Cappetta's Italian Imports Pizza and Catering. He was 73. The family announced Cappeta's death in a post on the eatery's Facebook page on Monday. "It is with great sadness that we tell you about the passing of our founder Aniello Cappetta," the post reads.
"Aniello died early this morning with his family by his side. To allow us time to grieve, we will be closed for regular business this week and will reopen February 28th. Thank you for your patience and understanding." Cappetta's Italian Imports Pizza and Catering is known as "West Haven's Little Italy" in the city's Allingtown section. Aniello started Cappetta's Italian Imports with his late wife Palma in 1989.
