Nine eleven is always a grieving day for me. Last Thursday, September 11 2014, like every year, even before We the Italians was born, I attended the small ceremony which takes place in Rome, where the Embassy of the United States and the city of Rome commemorates the anniversary of the brutal attacks, paying homage to the American and Italian citizens, and all those who lost their lives on that day. We the Italians is close and grateful to the United States every day, not just on September eleven: but of course this day fills our hearts with sorrow and brotherhood to the whole American people. We, too, will never forget.

Back to We the Italians, but staying on the same topic, in this issue of our magazine I'd like to recommend you the reading of our column regarding the Great Italians of the past: today we celebrate Oriana Fallaci, the Italian very successful female writer who wrote firm and courageous words after the attacks against New York, the place where she was living in 2001. In these days we commemorate the 8th anniversary of her death, a brave Italian in love with the United States.

About our magazine, another article I feel to mention is the one about Italian sport, with the heartbreaking story of two Italian motorcycling champions, Valentino Rossi and Marco "Sic" Simoncelli: a tale of talent, bravery, friendship, success and destiny that you don't want to miss, trust me.

We are planning a visit to the US next October. We will be happy to participate to a few important events regarding Italy in the US: among them, we cannot fail to mention the Columbus Day parade in Manhattan. In fact, we've been kindly invited by Mrs. Josephine Maietta, President of the Association of Italian American Educators(AIAE) to be part of the parade together with them. So, look for us, and thanks to AIAE, We the Italians will be there!

That's all for now. So stay tuned, fasten your seat belt and enjoy the ride. The future's so bright, we gotta wear shades!
