The former general manager of a Perkins Restaurant & Bakery in Springfield that shuttered last year launched his own restaurant Dec. 12. Archie Donoho started Archie’s Italian Eatery with son-in-law Lorenzo Hudson at 1410 E. Republic Road, formerly OssoBuco Italian American Bistro.
Donoho said he already had plans for the eatery before Perkins closed in October and took it as a sign. “I said, ‘Heck, that’s God telling me to do it.” I believe he wanted me to fulfill my dream,” Donoho said. He said startup costs were around $200,000 for the roughly 5,000-square-foot restaurant.
