Quattro Trattoria + Pizzeria is now open at the Westin St. Louis hotel at 811 Spruce Street downtown. As Off the Menu reported in March, Quattro replaces Clark Street Grill inside the hotel. Westin St. Louis executive chef Josh Wedel oversees a menu of pizza, pasta and other Italian fare. The pizzas are cooked in a 700-degree oven. Among the topping combinations are the quattro formaggi (mozzarella, Parmesan, asiago fresco and fontina), the trio (coppa, sausage and pepperoni with mozzarella and grana padano) and a classic margherita.
The selection of main courses and pastas includes lasagna, skirt steak with Italian salsa verde and roasted potatoes, chicken scaloppine and linguine with calamari and shrimp. Among the appetizers is a 16-ounce meatball with herbed ricotta, tomato sauce and crostini. The dish is meant to be shared, but Off the Menu doesn't judge.
