Dining out in Rhode Island quite often means taking our taste buds on deligthful adventures around the world. This enchanting restaurant in Newport, for example, will give us a taste of the Old World in Italy. That, after all, is where the inspiration for Mamma Luisa’s was born. A Newport favorite since 1992, the elegant Italian restaurant pays homage to the real Mamma Luisa, a beloved family member from the Old World.
The real Mamma Luisa ran her own restaurant in Italy for more than four decades, an accomplishment family members wanted to honor in Rhode Island. Together Mamma Luisa's family and friends launched this delightful eatery in 1992, promising guests a delicious taste of the Old World. A meal at a fine dining Italian restaurant means starting with wine. Choose from a generous selection of red, white, rose, and sparkling wines.
