When several friends in the Quiet Corner suggested an outing, they recommended Osteria Toscana a little over the border in Johnston, R.I. Michael and I had never been there, but they assured us we would enjoy the place. They were right. The restaurant, located in The Center at Cherry Hill shopping plaza, was a great find.

It's one of six eateries owned by and operated by Chef Luciano Canova. White table clothes, flowers, votives and a lovely decor met our eyes. Service from the onset was cordial and very welcoming. For those devotees of the eateries on Federal Hill, let me tell you that the food here is easily as good, and you can park right in front.
