A new spot for Italian food opens its doors today on Beacon Hill. Florina Pizzeria and Paninoteca took over the former Derne Street Deli space (16 Derne St.) and will shower the neighborhood in pizza, sandwiches, pasta, and much more.

The new restaurant, located behind the Massachusetts Statehouse, has 19 seats and is open for lunch and dinner, according to a City of Boston licensing board agenda. Florina serves pizza available by the slice or the pie, and there's a slice-of-the-day special, plus a whole host of assorted toppings.
