Less than two months passed from the time Jennifer and Teraesa Chagnon decided to open a restaurant and when they began serving customers at the beginning of this month. Lineage Italian Bistro officially opened Oct. 5. "From inception to completion was seven weeks," said Jennifer, who handles the business and promotion side, while Teraesa, her wife, is head chef.
Until recently, the restaurant at 525 Springfield St. was Tomasso's, but the former owner was looking to sell, and the Chagnons jumped at the opportunity. The couple previously ran Tacos Inc., which operated out of a stand on Springfield's Worthington Street, and provided catering services, Jennifer Chagnon said. But the opportunity to jump into the restaurant business with both feet was too much for them to pass up.
