When Richard and Lois Nicotra travel to Italy they often visit a small town in the Tuscan region called Pienza.

Here, they enjoy outdoor cafes where they indulge in fresh pasta and fine wine. "We were in Italy a couple of weeks ago, in wine county.

We asked there about growing grapes on a rooftop farm. They said, 'As long as there's sun, you can grow grapes on a rooftop'," recalled Richard Nicotra, head of the Nictora Group, which also includes the Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton Inn & Suites in Bloomfield.
