Two brothers are taking a page from their family by starting a pizzeria and adding their own twist to the pizza pie. Anthony and Sal Fasolino worked in Yolanda's Italian Restaurant on East 149th Street for 15 years. But on Monday, the third-generation pizza makers opened their own joint, Pizzaniste in Throgs Neck.
The new eatery allows patrons to customize their pie to their exact liking, choosing from over 40 toppings, and watching the creation work its way down an assembly line. Calzones and salads are also available. The neighborhood has welcomed the duo, and while they won't be around their family's restaurant as much, they've won the approval of their father.
