Most Americans don’t see a difference between Italian food and Italian-American food, but native Italians sure do- and that is exactly what Fred Assini saw back in 2012, when he bought the legendary pizzeria Cascarino’s.
Fred Assini, a serial entrepreneur based out of Long Island, NY, had a staff of over 350 people who frequently ordered from Cascarino’s (now Main Street Italian Eatery). “Cascarino’s was an incredible restaurant from Queens, and was known as serving some of the best pizza in NY. The recipes originated from an old-school grandma and we were also home of Citi Field Pizza.” said Assini.
