The Mahopac Italian American Club held its fourth annual Wine Tasting Festival and Competition at its clubhouse on Buckshollow Road on Sunday. Nineteen of the club's members entered their homemade wines in the tasting competition. Awards were given to the third, second and first place (Mastro del Vino) finishers, as well as a People's Choice Award (for which the attendees voted).
Nunzio Recine took third place; Peter Pensabene came in second; and Angelo Recine was voted Mastro del Vino by a panel of judges that included Greg Breen, Dr. Enrico D'Angelo and Rich Joyce. Rocco Pennella received the People's Choice Award.
