A new Italian spot and pizzeria has made its debut in the neighborhood. Called Montesacro Pinseria, the newcomer is located at 432 Union Ave. in Williamsburg. Montesacro Pinseria serves up traditional Italian dishes with a special focus on the cuisine of Rome.
On the menu, diners will find an assortment of light antipasti, cheese and charcuterie boards, and a variety of pinsas — ancient Roman flatbreads topped with meat, cheese, vegetables and other ingredients. According to the business' Facebook page, "Pinsa is the ancestor of pizza, perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, made with soy, rice and wheat flour all imported from Rome and GMO free."
