Midtown resident Sam Chapnick loves visiting Milan so much that she wears a custom-made necklace of the city’s skyline. “That’s how into Milan I am,” the 49-year-old butter sommelier — a job that includes consulting with restaurants and teaching classes on different types of butters — tells The Post. So when she learned that Princi, a Milanese bakery and cafe chain, was opening its first NYC location, she was ecstatic. “I was like, ‘Can it be?’ ” 

Princi, which has six locations in Milan and a few others throughout Europe, Asia and the US, has landed in Midtown with an airy and modern 2,750-square-foot space. The popular eatery, which was founded in 1986, counts Starbucks as an investor — and will even serve its food at the Starbucks Reserve Roastery in the Meatpacking District, slated to open later this month. But patrons of the Midtown spot can get a sneak peek at the cafe’s authentic pastries, sandwiches, coffee and pizzas.
