A popular area restaurant is expanding to the Spa City with a new to-go location, where people can pick up family-style Italian cuisine. Augie’s Family Style Italian To-Go, an extension of Augie’s Family Style Italian Restaurant in Ballston Spa, opened on Wednesday afternoon at 223 Lake Ave. in Saratoga Springs. To celebrate, the business held a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony with the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce, just before taking its first customers later that day.
Owner and chef Augie Vitiello decided to open this second to-go location because of the large amount of takeout business he was already doing at the full service restaurant at 17 Low St. in Ballston Spa. “I know a lot of our customers in Saratoga Springs come out of their way, but I wanted to be more convenient for them,” he said. Some of the most popular to go items at Augie’s Family Style Italian Restaurant are the chicken parmesan and a pasta dish called “The Kitchen Sink,” which comes with shrimp, sausage, prosciutto, chicken and tomato cream sauce. “Those are some of the classics that we do.”
