Meals on Wheels of Staten Island, a not-for-profit organization, provides two nutritious meals each day to the homebound elderly who are unable to shop for or prepare their own meals. In addition to being the source of nutrition for approximately 1,000 recipients, the daily visit by those delivering the meals is, in many cases, the seniors' only social contact with the community.
