
The American Academy in Rome seeks to appoint a scholar to serve as interim Andrew W. Mellon Professor-in-Charge of the School of Classical Studies for one year beginning summer 2014, to replace the current Mellon Professor Kimberly Bowes, who will move into the role of Director as of 1 July 2014.
The School of Classical Studies represents all of the humanities disciplines practiced at the Academy: Ancient Studies, Medieval Studies, Renaissance and Early Modern Studies, and Modern Italian Studies. The successful candidate will have expertise in one or more of those disciplinary areas, fluency in Italian, broad intellectual interests across the Academy's different fields, and a collaborative outlook.
