A major achievement for the Benedictine monks of the Abbey of Norcia: their Birra Nursia won three awards at the Untappd Community Awards, prestigious honors in the craft beer world. The monks from Umbria earned gold for the best Italian Belgian Tripel, silver for their Blonde in the Belgian Blonde category, and bronze for their Extra in the Belgian Strong Dark Ale category.
Untappd is a global app that connects breweries, retailers, and enthusiasts, serving as the largest platform for discovering and rating craft beers. It is to this community that the Untappd Community Awards are directed, an international competition that has grown significantly. In the 2024 edition, 25,302 beer labels from around 7,500 breweries across the United States and more than 50 countries were recognized.
