Years before a tragic earthquake reduced much of the city to rubble, I was invited to L’Aquila in the Italian province of Abruzzo to take part in, of all things, a festival of Canadian music.
Organized in part through the good offices of Toronto artists manager Ann Summers Dossena, the festival logically featured a number of Canadian artists, among them an orchestra from London, Ont., conducted by Harvey Sachs.
