The second artwork of "Progetto Murales" has been inaugurated, showcasing site-specific works by international artists on the silos of the Metro C construction site at Piazza Venezia in Rome. The piece is titled Ci eleviamo sollevando gli altri (We Rise by Lifting Others) by Marinella Senatore.
The artwork portrays a stage on which the men and women Senatore has encountered throughout her journey move. The artist drew inspiration from the "tradition of Roman theater: the city as an open-air stage, with a series of overlapping elements—architecture, landscape, the construction site, sounds, and colors."
Senatore's work replaces Costellazioni di Roma by Pietro Ruffo, which had captivated visitors at Piazza Venezia for four months.
Until 2026, the Murales project will transform the construction site of the Venezia station into one of the largest open-air exhibition spaces for contemporary art. The artistic installations directly cover the industrial silos of the site, turning them into an immense canvas of 640 square meters that invites the public to reflect on the transformative role of infrastructure projects and to interpret the contemporary.
