For the sixth consecutive year, Italy wins Best Destination Country and Best Hotel (with Grand Hotel Villa Feltrinelli on the Garda Lake). Half a million readers of the British magazine The Times voted the Bel Paese as the best destination. This is an audience of discerning and high-spending travelers.
The event is considered among the most prestigious awards in the travel industry and celebrates winners voted for by readers of News UK, the publishing group of which The Times, The Sunday Times and The Sun are members. The awards are given by a system of voting by readers to the most important tourism stakeholders and destinations such as: favorite city, favorite country, best tour operator, best cruise line.
This year also introduced an award for sustainability and best emerging destination. The ranking earned Italy this prestigious award is based on readers' opinions.
"Italy continues to inspire the international scene and enhances its reputation by providing memorable locations for dreaming, traveling and exclusive experiences. These awards are not only a source of pride but are symptomatic of the trust placed in our country by public opinion and travelers around the world," comments Enit CEO Roberta Garibaldi.
