The 90th anniversary of the Venice International Exhibition of Cinematographic Art - the first edition was held on August 6-21 of 1932 on the terrace of the Hotel Excelsior at the Lido - will be celebrated for an entire day, on Saturday, July 9 at the Venice Biennale, during which an international congress has been scheduled, along with the screening of two masterpieces from that year and a show. The program was defined and announced today.
The day will open in the morning (at 10:30 AM), with an international congress in the library of the historic archive of the Biennale (ASAC) in the Giardini. After a welcome from the president of the Biennale, Roberto Cicutto, there will be a presentation - with a dialogue between the director of the show, Alberto Barbera, and the author - of the Italian edition of the new 'Storia della Mostra del Cinema di Venezia' written by professor Gian Piero Brunetta, the outcome of a collaboration between the Biennale and the Marsilio publishing house.
