A Taste Like Memory is now available on Prime Video as part of the Prime Video Direct content submission portal in the U.S and the U.K. A Taste Like Memory is a labor of love documentary told through cooking, storytelling and home movies. It's a celebration of food, family, ancestry and the things that bond us to each other. An Italian American family comes together to cook their mom's recipes, reminisce and eat!
It’s a feelgood movie that tugs at your heart and your stomach. “Like many families around the world, our Italian American family gathered around food and this film captures that experience with love, recipes and storytelling.” Michael Salerno, co-producer. The Salernos grew up in Niles, Ohio. Our mom was born in Youngstown and our dad in Niles. They were both children of Southern Italian immigrants. The food we grew up eating, and that we make in this film, came from that experience. Our parents are both gone now so we decided to gather as a family for a long, 3-day weekend in 2019 and cook a bunch of our mom’s favorite recipes. Through storytelling, cooking and laughing, we made food that fed our bodies and our spirits. The film shows three generations cooking, eating and laughing together. Regardless of what we cook, this film shows the joy of sharing our lives through food.
The cookbook featured in the film, Toni’s Kitchen, is also available for purchase directly from them. Anyone interested in purchasing the book can simply go to their website, www.Artauropro.com and contact them via email.
