Anthony Rodia is a real character. In fact, with Snapchat filter-aided alter egos Uncle Vinny and Zia Lucia on Facebook, he’s several funny characters to his growing legion of fans. Earlier this year, the New Rochelle, N.Y.-raised stand-up comic with the gift of gab was on the brink of performing in his largest venue at the time, Foxwoods’ Fox Theater, when the pandemic hit and postponed his big night, along with almost 100 other live shows on his schedule.
So he poured his comedy stylings into online song parodies, skits and “Road Rage Wednesday” bits featuring Vinny and Zia (who will amuse a child with their cartoonist looks but have several adult-only moments). In his 40s now, Rodia will get his shot in the larger (but reduced-capacity for COVID) Grand Theater at Foxwoods Friday-Saturday, Dec. 4-5, at 9 p.m.
