April 10, 2025, in Los Angeles: the Consulate General of Italy in Los Angeles and the Consulate General of Italy in San Francisco, in collaboration with the Research Center of Octagona and Bonfiglioli Consulting, present the “Guida Paese Smart: How to Launch Your Business in the Western Region of the United States of America.”

This guide, is an initiative of the two Consulates, in coordination with the Embassy of Italy in Washington DC and with the support of ICE – Italian Trade Agency in Los Angeles, the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce West, and INNOVIT – Italian Innovation and Culture Hub in San Francisco and aims to offer tangible support to Italian SMEs interested in expanding their presence in the U.S. market.

The guide focuses on the states of California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Washington State, Oregon, Utah, Montana, Idaho, Alaska, and Hawaii, providing strategic insights, practical guidance, and real-life success stories.

The Guida Paese Smart, introduced by the Italian Ambassador to the United States, Mariangela Zappia, and with a foreword by Federico Rampini, columnist for Corriere della Sera and one of the leading Italian experts on the United States,,offers an in-depth analysis of the economic and business opportunities across the featured states, with a focus on key sectors such as technology, advanced manufacturing, renewable energy, agritech, and the luxury industry. The guide also provides an overview of the U.S. regulatory and tax framework, illustrating the main market entry routes and the most effective investment strategies for Italian companies.

Thanks to a modern and interactive approach, the guide integrates QR codes and hyperlinks for immediate access to multimedia content, additional resources, and useful contacts.

This guide illustrates the functions and the work carried out by the entire network of Italian institutions serving Italian businesses, which can rely on Italian Consulates, Trade Agency offices and Honorary Consulates operating in the area.

The presentation event will take place on April 10, 2025, in Los Angeles, and will feature the participation of institutional representatives, internationalization experts, and entrepreneurs eager to explore the opportunities offered by the Western U.S. region.
