Sandro Veronesi has won the Premio Strega for the second time. 'Il Colibrì' (the hummingbird, published by La Nave di Teseo) claimed Italy's top literary prize with a big margin, getting 200 votes, compared to 132 for second-paced Gianrico Carofiglio's 'La Misura del Tempo' (Einaudi).

Third was Valeria Parrella's 'Almarina' (Einaudi), with 86 votes. Veronesi won the Strega prize for the first time in 2006 with Caos Calmo (Calm Chaos). That novel was made into a film directed by Antonello Grimaldi and starring Nanni Moretti.
