Adriana Trigiani’s next novel, “The View from Lake Como,” is for anyone with “eldest daughter syndrome.” In the book, Jess Baratta moves into her parents’ basement after getting divorced from too good to be true husband. While there, she snaps back into her role as a dutiful daughter — but it’s not working for her anymore.
“In order to find herself, Jess goes ‘home’ to Italy — and sorts through the rubble of the past to build a new life and the house that goes with it,” Trigiani told in an email. Jess ends up in Lake Como, the glacial lake set against the foothills of the Italian Alps in Italy's Lombardo region, located in the north of the countryt. It's known for its picturesque villages, stunning vistas and villas owned by the likes of George Clooney.
